We all like to think we are free sovereign beings. But are we really? How often are we consciously choosing who we are and what we do, and how often are we reacting to external stimuli on a subconscious level?

The subconscious mind controls about 95% of what we think and do. Most of who we are and how we experience the world is the result of our subconscious programming during our younger years. Beyond that though, how often is our subconscious mind being manipulated on a daily basis to control our emotions, thoughts and actions?

Have you ever noticed when you drive by McDonald’s with your window down how delicious the air smells? That isn’t an accident. The design of many fast food restaurants is very strategic. They position the vents to push the aromas from the kitchen into the air outside and also into the dining areas. They understand that when our senses pick up the aroma it triggers the subconscious mind to remember similar tastes and triggers our desire to experience those pleasures again.

When it comes to the architecture, colors and design of most any corporation’s buildings and marketing materials nothing is by accident. It is all strategic and based upon understanding the science of the human mind. We are subliminally influenced continuously throughout everyday of our lives.
