Today was the same, even though I did not even leave my home. It was enough to read a few posts on the Facebook pages of some dear fellow parents to see that these people have gone mad.
How long can this continue like this? Honestly, I do not know. We are already at the point where even six- and seven-year-old children wanted to know first who voted for whom, and then started insulting one another based on that. As you wrote: “Collectively, we have become internally numb, externally dependent, and unhealthily comfortable.” That is exactly how it is.
These people, too, are slowly beginning to want to see blood. Some would already hang certain politicians who have been removed from power. There is no threshold anymore, nothing that pulls the handbrake for them. They have no independent thoughts, only repeat hate-filled sentences they have read here and there. They question nothing.
Whatever even some no-name page writes, if it confirms their fanaticism, they see it as truth carved in stone. There is no critical thinking among the majority. To me, this whole thing is unbelievable.
And of course, there is the circus too. This whole thing is one enormous circus. I am horrified by the fact that some people feel better by watching reality shows. As if they were monkeys locked in cages, except these are human beings. Survival shows are the same thing, as if they were modern arenas, and of course sports arenas are the same as well.
Unfortunately, this is obvious, and whoever does not want to see it, I am sorry, then let them keep their heads buried in the sand. But it hurts me deeply inside that humanity is choosing this direction.
And yes, unfortunately, all of this already begins in school, even in kindergarten. There are no questions. Do not want to know more, not even why. Just learn it, this way, this much, at this time, no more and no less, because, dear people, here we are raising uniform human beings. We do the same things, think the same thoughts, and are required to feel the same feelings.
It is sad.
As for me, I do not reinforce this, not in myself and not in my children either, but for that I fight my own little battles every single day. I am not saying that I am completely alone in this, but the majority does not believe this and does not understand most of my thoughts either. They just look at me, scratching their heads.

I am sorry to hear what is happening in Hungary. I had left the U.S. over a year ago to get away from the national division. I’ve spent the last year in Albania. It was seemingly peaceful politically. There was an election for the PM while I was there. Before my wife and I left there a few months ago, the former PM who lost the election was rousing up revolutionaries for protests. Each protest became larger and more violent.
I agree with you, I believe we have reached the boiling point. There seems to be division in every country, and internal division amongst individuals is rampant. It seems we have reached boiling temperatures in the collective pot and souls are dying.
